I have finished the first draft of the work plan outline
Viso did a very nice job of organizing the information and connecting the differnt parts with arrows! I am going to try to present the plan in outline form!
Planning Stage
Analysis of the problem- Providing Searchable Alternate format to students with print disabilities
Research Possible answers- I have narrowed to one company with a new product which converts Accessible PDF files to refreshable braille, Daisy Format, and MP3. Still waiting for user freeback from other colleges. May happen quick due to a big Tech Conference in LosAngles next week. Look at environment, staff, present content and training.
Design/Development Stage
Obtain Software and user manuals- The company usually provides this.
Create Reusable Learning Objectives- both written(hardcopy) and in on-line format (prefered method of the student workers).
Create pre-and post tests to be taken on a computer.
Field tests with innovators from our work study group.
Evaluate results, make necessary changes.
Implementation stage
Install new computer and Daisy software.
Introduce/demonstrate the Daisy format to work study students -- start working with the change process.
At work study students take pretest.
Choose reusable learning objectives in areas of deficiencies and have students complete RLO's.
Conduct either by computer and/or hands on posttest.
Evaluation stage.
Do formative evaluation -- were they able to do all the steps correctly?
Do a summative evaluation -- is there a better way to accomplish this?
Right final report and submit to director of disability services.
Right now this is rather sketchy but it's a map for me to start working with. I have created a pert chart, which I have the approximate time this to accomplish stages and who is going to be involved in each stage. Of course I have a number of arrows on this so that you can follow the flow in the cycles of each particular phase in step.
Have a great break if you have to read this you can give me a little feedback as to what you want me to add in or take out.
